True West, continued
Austin, played by Eric Morgan, is an ambitious Hollywood screenwriter working on a potential million-dollar deal and Lee, played by Gregory Lesch, is a petty thief with a six-pack. The conflict heats up when film producer, Saul Kimmer, played by Jerry Levy, offers Lee a contract to write a "true" western. What follows is a riveting reversal of roles as both brothers head off searching for their True West. Austin decides to take up a life of crime--beginning with a bet that he cant even steal a toaster, while Lee struggles with the price of instant success and tries equally ineffectively to write a screenplay. Just when it seems like a truce has been reached between the brothers, their clueless and equally dysfunctional Mom, played by Nancy Stephens, arrives for the final shoot-out.
