Theater Rental Rates and Terms
To reserve a date, we require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the base rental fee. Wild Root Arts requires balance of payment on the day of the event. Cancellation made less than two weeks before event will not be honored and full payment is expected. Shows must be over and people must be out of the Theater and Gallery space by 11 p.m. Wild Root Arts will present the renter with a clean Theater, Gallery, and restrooms. All renters are responsible for leaving the spaces clean with all lights off and doors locked. Trash and recyclables must be deposited in the proper containers located in the entryway off the alley.
Renters are responsible for their own liability and property insurance during the rental period. Wild Root Arts accepts no liability for accidents, property loss or other items which are beyond their control during the rental period.
Rehearsal and Set-Up
Each presenter receives two hours of rehearsal/set-up time per scheduled performance. Additional rehearsal/set-up time is $9 an hour. Presenters are welcome to arrive at the theater 1 1/2 hours before curtain time at no charge. One temporary set of keys is available to renter for a deposit fee of $25. Keys must be returned at the end of the event.
Ticket Sales
The presenter is responsible for keeping accurate records of ticket sales/donations and pays Wild Root Arts 12% of total ticket sales (or donations).
Comps
Wild Root Arts reserves four seats per performance to use as comps.
Stage Size, House Information, Lighting, Sound, and Projection System
Stage with drapes: width 17, depth 10 6, height 9 8 and without drapes: width 18 6, depth 12 10, height 9 8. For an additional fee of $15, the drapes will be taken down. The Theater has 100 seats. The Theater is outfitted with a six-dimmer board and sufficient number of instruments to light the stage. Dramatic presenters are welcome to refocus the lights to suit their particular needs. It is the renters responsibility to turn off all lights at the end of their performance. Set-up, breakdown and sound technician = $80. For events like poetry readings where only one microphone is required, the charge is $40. Presenter is required to hire an approved sound technician if theater equipment is used.
Also available for rental: digital projector, VCR, DVD player. The charge is $50 per presentation.
Publicity
Presenter is responsible for his/her own publicity, including posters, flyers, press releases, mailings, etc. Text on all promotional materials should be cleared with Wild Root Arts. Please allow lead time. Wild Root Arts must receive an email of your press release three weeks prior to opening (send as email text). Wild Root Arts must receive six posters/flyers at least two weeks before opening. Wild Root Arts will put an announcement for your event on our answering machine and do an email to our patrons.
Reservation and Box Office Services
We will provide reservation service on our voice mail for your production, beginning five days before your event opens, for $10 per event and $.50 per reservation (whether or not the ticket is claimed). We will provide a volunteer or staff member to sell tickets at the door for your event for $10 per performance.
Concessions
Wild Root Arts reserves the right of first refusal to provide and sell concessions at events. If Wild Root Arts does not provide and sell concessions, the presenter is free to assume the responsibility to do so. In that event, the renter will pay Wild Root Arts 12% of concession proceeds.

Business, Community and School Day Use
Wild Root Arts is pleased to announce the availability of the Hooker-Dunham Theater and Gallery for business meetings, presentations, annual meetings and educational programs.
Rent the Theater alone for your meetings or complete your presentation by catering your lunch or breakfast in our Gallery.
The Hooker-Dunham Theater features a seating area with the capacity for 99 guests. The stage maintains a close connection to guests and may be accessed either from an aisle alongside the seating area or from an offstage door. We also have available for rental a digital projector, VCR, DVD player and small sound system.
The Hooker-Dunham Gallery is a 1000-square foot space adjacent to the Theater. A small kitchen area is available for food storage, preparation (no cooking) and cleanup.
Both the Theater and Gallery will lend themselves to a wide variety of meeting possibilities.
