Description:
Clayton Sabine will perform original songs with low sweeping and overarching cello provided by Sabine Rhyne. Clayton Sabine is a writer and singer of some pretty good songs. Residents of his native Vermont may remember him as a founding member of the regionally popular group Relative Strangers. Clayton’s songs engage his audience, weaving a mood with lyrics rich in imagery and melodies that just might pester you for days. Dave Madeloni of the “Brattleboro Reformer” once described Clayton’s lyrics as “caustic.” (What’s up with that?) Here’s what some fans have been saying about Clayton: “Hey man, I liked your songs.” (Anonymous fan) “Yah, me too.” (Anonymous fan’s date)
Cellist Sabine Rhyne has performed in a wide variety of ensembles throughout the northeast, including the Windham Chamber orchestra and the Monadnock Chorus orchestra, various opera productions, and many chamber ensembles of all types. She teaches—and learns from—students of all ages at the Brattleboro Music Center. In addition to her work as a cellist, she also has played electric bass with the 'Hard to Please' blues band (you can't imagine how hard it was to come up with the name), the 'Virginia and the Wolves' rock band, and many other groups in Boston, Vermont, and North Carolina. Sabine has contributed to several CDs. Perhaps you have one.
