Description:

Nuclear Free Vermont in 2012 presents a video of the famous "No Nukes" concerts that were held in 1979 in New York City, starring such famous musicians as Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt. These concerts were produced by "Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE), a group of artists working for a non-nuclear future. As ‘Rolling Stone" has raved, "MUSE’s inspiring collaboration to bring five nights of concerts to Madison Square Garden and to organize a 200,000 person rally at Battery City Park has been distilled into this unprecedented film, documenting forever that elusive moment when artist, audience and important cause were perfectly in synch." This extraordinary video is a benefit to raise money for "Nuclear Free Vermont," which has been working to prevent the re-licensing of Entergy Vermont Yankee in 2012 and to educate the public and government officials about the safety and environmental dangers of nuclear power. In addition to the film screening, prints will be sold of the painting, "Daffodils" by the nationally-famous artist, Nancy Guzik. Nancy has donated these prints, at her own expense, because she believes so strongly in the goals of Nuclear Free Vermont, and she will be present that night to sign the prints. This should prove to be an entertaining and inspiring evening for all ages!
